Welcome!
Fantastic Estate Find.
For sale are 6 complete five piece place settings (still with German "Kontrolstelle 17" - Quality control stickers) of beautiful Rosenthal "New Wave" Pattern fine china plus additional Serving pieces. (34 items in all).
This is the colorful geometric pattern made on the Century shape. It was designed by Dorothy Hafner & Tapio Wirkkala and had only been manufactured for four short years - from 1990-1994 in the small town of Selb in Bavaria's Fichtel Mountains.
This immaculate set was bought new in Berlin/ Germany in 1992 and brought to our shores by a Porcelain Collector. It went straight into a display cabinet and stayed there ever since.
Note: If you're ordering to add to an existing set, keep in mind that (there are three different size Cups & Saucers) - mine are: The Cups are 2 1/4" tall and have a top diameter of 3 3/4". The Saucers are 6 1/8" in diameter.
Description: The base china is white and is fully vitrified (fired at very high temperatures so that the glaze goes all the way through), this makes the china extremely durable. Rosenthal holds patents on this I was told.
My photos are good, so there's no reason to go on and on and bore you to death!
